If you’ve been around the Suite for a while, you know I am a huge believer in Big Magic: that special little cosmic energy that brings goodness to you when you are open to receiving it. It allows you to dance with creativity, act on your imaginations, and bring forth your own gifts. Call it karma, call it religion, call it the energy of the universe…whatever you call it, I believe it in my bones; in my very core. I live it every single day.
Here’s why this is so important.
As small business owners, direct sellers, or entrepreneurs, much of our jobs are daily grind. Tasks, to-dos, calls, paperwork, emails, follow-ups, posts — the grind.
But then the other part of our jobs is magic. The creativity. The people we get to interact with. The ideas, creations, moments, memories, and bravery that carries our imagination forward to what can be.
This is where Big Magic happens – when we are brave enough to declare what we want to the universe, and then get out of the way long enough for the universe to say “OK, she’s ready now – let’s do this.”
First step? Declare your Big Magic. Your big-brave-scary-terrifying-OMG-what-if-that-really-happens idea, wish, or desire. Declare it in your heart, declare it to your spouse or best friend, whisper it in your prayers. Declare it, believe you deserve it, and let the universe get to work on you.
Over the next couple weeks, we will be ending 2017 and entering a whole new year full of possibilities and potential. If you were with us at the beginning of 2017, you may recall that I challenged you to choose a word for the year, that would carry your Big Magic forward. We’ll spend a bit of time reflecting on that.
Then I’m going to challenge everyone to choose a 2018 Word of the Year. I’ve already chosen mine, and over the next couple weeks we’ll talk more about how to start thinking about it, and the mindset that you’ll need to bring that word to life.
Real, tangible, let’s-do-this life.
Big Magic is coming, y’all.

I’m working on my word. Many come to mind. This past year has been transformational. The year started with the sudden death of my husband on January 2nd. That brought along an entire set of challenges. I had never really lived on my own as an adult and I had always had a safety net. (I lost both of my parents in the previous 2 years.)
I already had a small business creating and sells by a very unique jewelry item and frequently travel to shows across the country. So I did the crazy thing. I quit my part time job that I hated. Somewhere along the line I was introduced to LuLaRoe and got hooked. By July I was waiting to onboard and attended the National Convention. By fall I was doing well and had a great first month. Since then I have struggled with all of the issues you address in the Suite.
I’m getting ready to go to Florida for the holidays and am going to spend my time focused on rebooting my company.
Consistency is my primary goal. I want to establish a working plan and stick to it!
